Genital wart is the most common sexually transmitted disease. Genital warts are soft growths that appear on the genitals. They can cause pain, discomfort, and itching. Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). In fact, HPV is so common that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source says that most sexually active people get it at some point. However, the virus doesn’t always lead to complications such as genital warts. In fact, in most cases, the virus goes away on its own without causing any health problems.
Genital warts affect both women and men, but women are more vulnerable to complications. First, we need to confirm the actual occurrence of the STD before we start with the procedure. The condition is then treated with topical wart treatments like imiquimod (Aldara), podophyllin, and podofilox (Condylox) trichloroacetic acid, or TCA.
