Laser Hair Removal can be used to remove unnecessary hair from the face, legs, arms, chest, underarm, bikini, and other body parts. The hair growth decreases noticeably right from the very first session and the existing body hair after each session will be finer and lighter.

Is Laser Hair Removal a permanent solution?

In each session, about 10 to 25 percent of body hair is removed. Thus, it takes about 5 to 7 sessions to get the best result.

After a session, the next session will be done after four to six weeks. Thus, the entire five or seven sessions procedure might take anywhere from seven to nine weeks.

Note: The human body is a complex mechanism, and the hair follicles might regenerate even after completely destroying them. Steps for Permanent Laser Hair Reduction

1) Consultation by a professional doctor (Free at Alka Cosmetic Dermatology)

You should first consult an experienced doctor to know of any issues that you might
have during the sessions.

For instance, if you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (for females) or thyroid disorder, you might develop a condition called Hirsutism. Hirsutism means added body hair in the parts of the body where we generally don’t have hair.

2) You will then be given a test dose of Diode Laser according to your skin color and
hair density.

This is done to design the best session plan for you.

3) We will then perform a skin patch test to see for any allergies that you might have.

4) Preparing the skin

We will now trim and shave the excess body hair from the desired area. This enables laser treatment to work effectively.

5) We will then apply cool gel on the body area where the hair is to be removed.

A cool gel is simply a refrigerated ultrasound gel. It is applied to prevent burns to your skin during the laser procedure.

Does this mean I cannot have a hot shower during the interval between sessions?

You can shower with hot water without worrying in between sessions. You only need to avoid a very hot sauna or shower for 48 hours before and after the sessions.

b) You should not swim for 48 hours after the session. Lock your swimming goggles away till then.

c) You should not shave, pluck, or thread your body hair before the procedure.

If you have to do it anyway (while going to parties), kindly do it two weeks before coming for the next session.

10) The next session will be done after four to six weeks.
